Poker Rooms Changing
Hands
January
30, 2009
The popular poker sites Doyle’s
Room and Playboy Poker have both announced a change in their networks.
Doyle’s Room is going to be moving to Cake Poker and Playboy will be moving
to Intercasino.
Doyle’s Room is moving because of the recent decision by Microgaming not to
allow US players, and they wanted to still be able to offer them poker. Both
players and management at the poker room say that they have started the
switch and that it was going remarkably well. Microgaming will still hold
the old versions of the poker room but they will be gone by the end of
January.
Players are to uninstall the old poker software and install the new Cake
Poker version. The poker site is hoping that this will be the last move for
them as they have seen their share of hosting sites. They were originally
with Tribeca, then they moved to Playtech, then Microgaming, and now Cake
Poker.
Playboy Poker is making the move as well, and despite earlier reports that
the poker site was shutting down altogether, this is not the case. They are
moving the poker site to another site, but it seems that it is not really
going all that well. Poker players say that they have problems logging on,
and that they are having problems loading in their loyalty points.
The poker site is hard at work trying to figure out how to make it work and
to fix the problems that they have had so far, and once it is done they
expect it to be even better than before.
