Playtech’s iPoker announced over the weekend that they would be removing
NoIQ Poker and Carlos Poker from their network. This came as a surprise to
many as they were not aware that there were any problems between the poker
affiliates, and therefore the removal of both from their poker site as of
January 24th seemed hasty.
The poker company released a statement that basically said that they had
entered into discussions with Tain, a company they had merged with a year
ago last August. They said that as a result of that meeting they have
decided to remove the poker sites from their site. Tain is still considered
a separate company, but has ties to the iPoker network.
NoIQPoker released a statement of their own saying that they were excited
about the end of the partnership and that they have not seen eye to eye on
many an occasion. They said that “it has been hard to understand each other”
but that they were looking forward to the future without them. They said
that they would be making an announcement as to which poker network they
would be moving to.
The poker company said that this was the best move for them and that they
had received four other offers to move to other sites and was considering
each one carefully. They say that whichever site they go with the poker
company will be able to have “faster game play [and] looser cash games.”
They said that not all players like the tight games that they have been
subjected to on the iPoker network.
