Crown Casino Poker Tournament
January
31, 2009
One of the biggest and most exciting events of the poker world is the Aussie
Millions poker tournament. This poker tournament is one of the largest in
the world and this year it attracted almost 700 players to the event which
was held at the Crown Casino. When all was said and done, and the event was
over, it was their countryman Stewart Scott that took the title of poker
champion.
Scott came into the poker tournament ready to play, but also facing some
serious competition. There were some of the biggest names in poker playing
there to get their shot at the big bucks, and Scott would have to play the
game of his life to win it. Going through such big names as Chris “Jesus”
Ferguson and Scotty Nguyen would take some serious poker playing, but Scott
was obviously up for the challenge.
When he first started it seemed as though there might be some faltering on
Scotty’s part, but he held in there and on the final day of the poker
tournament things seemed to turn around for him. When he entered the final
table in the poker tournament he had a huge chip lead and was able to
soundly defeat all that opposed him.
Looking at it now, it seemed inevitable that Scott would be the poker
champion, simply based on the entry into that final table. He had more than
half of the chips that the next highest player had, and as the players
dropped out one by one, it ended up between him and American Peter Rho. When
it was finished Scott stood triumphant and his fellow Aussies said that it
was time one of their own won.
