Full Tilt Poker Review
This is where some of the best pros
in the world come to play poker online. Full Tilt Poker Room has been growing
every month for the past 2 years, and it now one of the largest poker rooms on
the Internet.
I had always been aware of Full Tilt
Poker, mostly thanks to their commercials, but had never played there because I
was caught up with other poker rooms and casinos. Anyways, I recently had some
extra time on my hands and there was nothing to stop me from giving Full Tilt
Poker a chance. I'm glad that I did. In addition to a $750K weekly tournament,
one-a-day free roll and $5 million in guaranteed weekly jackpots, here's what
else I found:
One of the first things that jumped
out at me after visiting Full Tilt's website was a
100% bonus up to $600 Free
(more on that later). I also noticed an impressive roster of poker pros
(sixty-five total) who play exclusively at Full Tilt. If you are new to poker,
don't worry about facing up against these guys because you will be able to
identify them by their screen name. Furthermore, they are likely to only be
playing very high stakes games anyways. Once you get your feet wet, you may even
seek these players out and chat with them, which I have to say sounds like a fun
prospect. Remember, to be one of the best you have to play with and learn from
the best.
INTERACTIVE TOUR
One of the easiest ways to become
familiar with Full Tilt Poker is to take their interactive tour. I did so
myself, and found that when I first logged into the software platform, the
interactive tour really paid off in keeping me from feeling overwhelmed. Here is
where you will get to view a sample table, the tournament lobby and main poker
lobby, complete with interactive pop-up descriptors. This is also an opportunity
to gauge the graphics of the software, which I would describe as having a crisp,
animated cartoonish feel. They may not be as "realistic" or vivid as some other
poker rooms out there, but it suffices. I personally don't know of any other
poker room that offers as wide a selection of hand drawn poker avatars, ranging
from the Geico Lizard to Mike Tyson. You get to choose your own during the
registration process. I went with the happy frog.
SOFTWARE & GAMES
This is
one area where I think Full
Tilt stands above the rest of the pack. Somehow, Full Tilt manages to make their
software platform easily navigable while still offering a seemingly endless list
of table, tournaments and customizable options, including four different table
views. Another cool feature is that you can choose a specific location on your
computer hard drive for the software to automatically download all your hand
histories. Both the real money and play money platforms are organized by game
type schedules, regular tournament schedules (satellites, cash games, private
tournaments and more), special tournament schedules and sit'n go schedules.
Games offered include Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hi/Lo, Omaha Hi, Stud Hi/Lo, Stud Hi,
Razz and mixed games, including HORSE, HOSE and HA. If you would like to find
out more about Full Tilt's software features I highly recommend visiting their
website, which is a vast resource. This is seriously one of the most transparent
poker rooms I have been to, and although there is a lot of content to read
through, I personally value it as a token of trust.
BONUS
I mentioned this earlier in the
review, and dare say that I am saving the best for last. When I first visited
Full Tilt and saw they were offering a 100% bonus up to $600 Free, I did a
double take. After the second glance, my first thought was, "What's the catch?"
I was even more surprised to find out there really isn't one. In fact, it's even
better than it sounds. Besides getting the full bonus after meeting the
play-through requirement, players also get to keep the comp points earned from
every $1 in rake fees and every $1 paid in tournament fees. These points can
later be redeemed for Full Tilt merchandise in their store or to gain entry into freeroll tournaments.
CONCLUSION
This is actually one of the most
positive reviews I have written. I seriously wish I had given Full Tilt Poker a
chance earlier on. My only gripe was that I had to wait a while before I
received my activation code via email, which you will need to login to the lobby
for the first time. Maybe it was my email service that was running slow, but it
seemed like five or ten minutes before I received it. This isn't a big deal.
Take it as a head's up so that you don't go trying to register again or calling
up customer support wondering where your activation code is. And speaking of
customer support, I haven't even needed to contact them yet, which I think is a
really good sign. I am pretty confident that if I need to, I will get a swift
response. Full Tilt has over sixteen different emails (representing different
departments and player needs), all of which are manned 24/7. Full Tilt has my
trust.
