Resorts Atlantic City

Overview

This casino resort opened in doors nearly 30 years ago in 1978. It was Atlantic City’s very first casino resort property. For a long time, this was the place to play for the older gambling set. Then last year, the property was sold to a new owner and began to attract the younger set. After many years of being known as the older player establishment, this new move was a bit of a surprise to many Atlantic City regulars in the know. Last year, the property continued on its quest to cater to the younger crowds by creating an outdoor bar and beach complex that is run by the famed Nikki Beach Club franchise, but it will not be returning this year due to changes in law regarding drinking, beaches and more. This was considered to be the premiere spot as far as beach clubs are concerned in Atlantic City. The concept was great. Liability was not.

The property also built a new comedy club, Catch a Rising Star that showcases an amazing variety of talent. The new hotel tower, Rendezvous Tower has 27 stories of rooms that include all the luxury amenities a younger crowd wants.

The addition of the American Burger Company has become one of the best ideas the resort has accomplished by offering the best burgers in Atlantic City. This is a popular place. The vibe here is retro old-school meets roadside. Your burger is cooked to order (good meat) with the company’s signature crispy lettuce – no wilting here. The special sauce is delicious.

Be sure to also check out this property’s other new dining experiences too. Seek out Gallagher’s for prime cuts of meat. This is the same company that owns the Gallagher’s in NYC. Jose Garces, a well known chef, has created the menu for Atlantic’ City’s first Mexican restaurant. Look for it to open in August – no name as of yet. It will take place of the Camelot restaurant.

The Casino

Slots players will be happy to find 2,800 machines in the Resorts casino area. The Platinum Place area is designated for high limit slots. You will find 85 table games at the Resorts casino. Two high limit table game areas are located in this casino. One is for blackjack and the other for traditional baccarat playing. For the online poker players out there that will be in Atlantic City this summer, there are only 6 poker tables at the Resorts casino as of yet, but they are always in play and are located in a room on the casino floor where you can bet on sporting events at the same time.

Restaurants

We already mention a few of them in the Overview section of this article. Aside form them, there is a great noodle house named the Asian Spice Noodle Bar. Capriccio has great Italian food. The buffet has updated itself with many new offerings and comes with a budget conscious price tag of only $8.99 for Resort Uptown Club (see promos below) members. Head to Breaksticks for a great wood-burning stove made pizza.

Entertainment

The Super star Theater houses many great headlining shows. As we already mentioned in the Overview section of this online poker article, the new comedy venue Catch a Rising Star is a great place to catch come great comedy.

Night Life

As we already stated the Nikki Beach situation ha sput an end to the outdoor hot spot, but this resort has alternatives in line. The Luna Lounge and the 25 Hours spots are very cool. 25 Hours boasts fishnet stocking wearing waitresses and the funky vibe you get from the cozy seating and interestingly lit tables is very cool indeed.

Promos

Look for Resort’s multi leveled loyalty program this kicks off this summer. Is is called Destination Casino Club and offers several levels of player rewards depending on how and how much you play in the casino.

The previously mentioned Uptown Club enables users to win various prizes and more. If you don’t inquire at booking, try visiting the friendly staff at the VIP booth in the casino. This is a great resource for obtaining the latest and greatest player rewards and information.
