Summer 2006 has arrived and many
online poker players are seeking
vacation time. Online poker
players typically like spending
both time with family and time
at casinos. If you can have both
in one, you are set for a good
time. We all know Las Vegas is
the Mecca for gambling, but now
that summer ids here, many trips
will be to locations where there
are beaches. too. We already
covered
Atlantic City in major
detail, now it is time to check
in with the Mississippi Gulf
Coast another gaming location
that has beaches.
Before Hurricane Katrina
devastated the area last year at
the end of August, all of the
casinos that dotted the
Mississippi Gulf shoreline were
either completely destroyed or
sustained major damages. The
hard hitting hurricane all but
obliterated the casino sections
of the resorts. All of the
casinos in Mississippi are
located on floating barges due
to specifics in state gaming
laws. The resorts themselves are
okay to be on actual land. The
massive storm surge basically
was the culprit here. It caused
many of the casino areas
connected to the land locked
resort and hotels to sink into
or slide away into the Gulf of
Mexico.
After massive reconstruction to
the area's casinos and a long
road to healing, these casinos
are back and ready to go. At
this time, many are open, some
offer limited games until their
fully loaded casinos are
completed, some even have
special temporary casinos up and
running until the barges can be
completed. Whatever the case,
the resorts are ready to go,
great packages are being offered
and the economy is counting on a
great summer vacation season.
Biloxi and its surrounding areas
is a very hospitable area to
visit. Southern charm mixed with
beautiful beaches, great
seafood, resorts and casino
gaming is what it is all about.
