Showboat Atlantic City
Overview
Any online poker player out
there looking for a place to
play in Atlantic City should
not rule this place out. The
Showboat has been in
business since 1987 and ever
since, it has managed to
host a non-stop party for
its patrons. This casino is
known for its Mardi Gras
atmosphere that is present
through out this property.
From the Dixeland bands
belting out raucous jazz
tunes to the costumed
entertainers that greet you
as you come on property –
this is one party casino. Oh
yeah, the faux French
Quarter is not bad either!
Just last year, Showboat
added a House of Blues
concert hall making it the
premiere place to see top
entertainment acts. The
House of Blues Gospel Brunch
has got o be the most
entertaining brunch that
provides great food. In a
city of casinos and hotels
that all have brunches, this
is no easy feat. The
addition of the House of
Blues keeps in theme with a
Southern/Mardi Gras theme
throughout the property.
In the near future, a $43
million renovation will take
place (some have already
been finished) on the casino
floor itself. Everything
from new carpet to furniture
and lighting will be added
in the casino area. New wall
coverings and design
fixtures will be a welcomed
change from the old fake
plants and such.
New newly finished bar
central in the casino has
just been completed. This
casino oriented bar is
already popular because of
it location in the casino.
There are probably more
video poker and slot
machines in this bar than
any other in Atlantic City.
The 400 room
Bourbon Tower
is currently undergoing a
$20 million upgrade that
will update rooms. This
renovation includes new
hotel room furniture, new
bathrooms, hotel room
fixtures, new carpet, and 42
inch plasma screens. For
those of you who can’t get
enough of the House of
Blues, the hotel is creating
22 House of Blues theme
rooms. The rooms will be
almost featured as mini
Foundation Rooms. These
rooms will be located in the
Orleans Tower on the second
and fourth floors. These
rooms start out with a
really inexpensive price tag
- $129-$350 per night.
Casino
For those of you online
poker fanatics that will be
heading to Atlantic City,
check out the House of Blues
Poker Room. It has 25 table
games, simulating and great
beverage services. Every
Sunday through Thursday
there are cash tourneys for
you online poker players
heading that way soon.
The new renovations at the
casino are a crowd pleaser.
The casino is doing record
business. You will find over
4,000 slots here and about
100 other table games.
Restaurants
There are 9 different places
to eat at on the Showboat
property. Rib and Chophouse
is the property’s steakhouse
that has great seafood
offerings as well. North Sea
Village has an Asian flare
The Royal Noodle House is
also a hit for Asian fare.
Casa Di Napoli has all the
Italian recipes you want. If
you don’t mind a possible
wait, the House of Blues
restaurant is a huge hit. If
you can score a seat in the
HOB Foundation Room, you
will find yourself enjoying
a gourmet meal while looking
out over the ocean. The
Sunday Gospel Brunch that we
already mentioned is served
there on Sundays. Other
days, you can find a great
buffet at the Quarter
Buffet.
Entertainment
Again, it is the House of
Blues that will get you
every time at the Showboat.
There s great entertainment
here on just about any day
of the week. This summer has
many great comedians heading
to Atlantic City’s House of
Blues. This is an A List of
entertainment. Check the HOB
website for details.
Nightlife
For a true nightclub, you
will have to venture off
property, but this whole
House of Blues complex will
keep most of you happy until
late at night.
Promos
As online poker players, we
love promos. Check out
Showboat’s Family Feud game
show. This live stage show
happens 6 nights a week (no
Saturday) and guests may be
chosen to play on stage in
two groups of 5 – just like
the game show. Cash prizes
are won and tickets run $25.
