The turn card is considered to be the fourth community or board card dealt. It follows the round of betting from the flop. Many poker players feel that the turn plays itself. -          Raise when you have the top two pair on the turn – unless the board (community cards) is three suited or otherwise unstable.

-          Say you have an open ended straight draw or even a flush draw. If there are two or more opponents still in the hand with you, call a bet at this time. Keep in mind, if the board shows a pair, and there is a bet and a raise in front of you – be leery. This usually means someone is probably holding a full house.

-          AT this point in the hand, bet or even check (with the intention of raising) when you are certain you are holding the every best hand. The idea is to create an expensive round of betting for your opponents who are looking to make their draw. By being low-key, you are less likely to scare them into folding. You want their money, but you do not want to come across as the player with the best hand.

-          Say you are holding a draw at this point in the hand, see if you can make your hand as cheaply as you can – just in case it doesn’t pan out.

-          You will always want to be aware the possibility of picking up a draw at this point in the hand. By doing so, you may get a chance to continue on in the hand when you may not have otherwise.
